Tacos are an easy, personalizable lunch or dinner that few can refuse! With  wide spread  options for meat, toppings and taco shells, there is something for everyone. You can make it as elaborate or simple as you want. So, get your grocery list ready and stop by Ward’s to fuel your next Taco Tuesday.

Beef It Up

First, you need a base for your tacos! Start with some ground beef from our meat department, or try chicken or turkey for a leaner option. To season your meat, use salt, pepper, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin and oregano for a make-it-yourself taco seasoning.

Alternative Ideas

To mix things up, try your tacos surf-n-turf style, and choose from our fresh seafood selection at Ward’s. Our go-to is fresh florida shrimp

Need a vegetarian or vegan option? Jackfruit has very similar taste and texture to pulled pork! We sell canned and frozen Jackfruit as well as fresh Jackfruit when it is in season.

Tofu is also a staple meat replacement. It is a low calorie protein and easily soaks up the spices and marinades it is seasoned with, making it ideal to cook with!

Top It Off

Classic toppings: Some classic taco toppings include lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro, beans, onions, avocado and cheese. If you want to step up your taco game, add a homemade pico de gallo or grilled fajita veggies, or pair a coleslaw topping with your seafood tacos!

Ward’s has the cheese! Experiment with the large variety of delicious cheeses we offer in our deli section. Here are some of our favorite cheeses to top off our taco.

Pioneer New Toppings

Have you ever tried mango guacamole? What about cream cheese bean dip? Add new life and flavor to your tacos with these unique taco toppings. With summertime right around the corner, give the watermelon salsa a whirl and let us know what you think.

Wrap It Up

Do you prefer corn or flour tortillas? Why not both? If you are feeling up to the challenge, make your own flour tortillas for an extra layer of adventure. Are you aiming for more flavor? Birria tacos may be the answer. With a few additional steps, you can use the grease to fry your tortillas. For a crispy taco, try popping your assembled taco in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes.
